Your inner critic didn’t come from you.
Yes, it lives in your thoughts and sabotages you when you least expect it, but that doesn’t mean it’s inherently part of who you are.
You weren’t born with it. Just look at kids to prove this. They don’t go around criticizing themselves or each other until a certain age. Until they learned it.
It’s a voice trained by the negative influences in your life.
The voice learned from overly critical parents, teachers, or friends. It picks up phrases, beliefs, and ideas that who you are isn’t enough.
It learns from jealous ex boyfriends and insecure bosses.
This voice lives in your mind, but it doesn’t come from YOU.
The good news is – you can control it. You can train it.
I haven’t been able to completely kick it out of my mind – even with practice it’s still there.
But it’s not in control anymore.
I don’t really believe it.
So if this voice was trained by other people, it makes sense that it can also be trained by you. This is what I teach – it changes your whole life.
